REACHModus

REACH commands attention. It changes the way that we all do business. It can open up markets to competitors and close down markets for those who are not prepared to take appropriate action.

H2 Compliance is very aware of the pressure that is being placed upon chemical users within Europe and has therefore developed REACHModus to deliver a management system approach to REACH compliance.

What is REACHModus?

REACHModus is a set of processes based on project management fundamentals to create a system for REACH implementation.

It offers a stepwise approach to achieving REACH compliance and is focused on meeting the REACH deadlines on-time and within budget.

Our goal is to take the complexity out of REACH, by breaking REACH down into modules, each having defined inputs, tools & techniques, activities and outputs.

REACHModus is delivered in three phases. Businesses have the option for H2 Compliance to assist them with all phases, individual phases, or even modules within various phases. The three phases are outlined as follows:

REACHModus 1 - Services up to Pre-registration Phase 1 includes scoping and planning for the impact of REACH on businesses. It includes all REACH compliance activities up until January 2009. Activities include planning, inventory analysis, business impact analysis and pre-registration (due in December 2008).

The aim of REACHModus 1 is to achieve set a robust foundation upon which future REACH compliance will be built.
REACHModus 2 - Services up to Registration Phase 2 includes the services directed at Substance Information Exchange Fora (SIEF) activities, including SIEF participation and representation, literature review, testing (where required), chemical assessment, chemical safety report and registration dossier preparation.

The aim of this phase is to guide the client and/or their SIEF along the path to effective substance registration, identifying and helping the client/SIEF with all the REACH requirements that need to be addressed and completed along the way.
REACHModus 3 - Post-registration Services Phase 3 includes post-SIEF services, such as lobbying and advocacy for authorisations and restrictions, safety data sheet management, on-going chemical assessment and hazard communication and reporting to the European Chemical Agency.

REACH does not finish once the registration dossier is submitted. it is an on-going process that needs to be regularly reviewed and managed. The aim of this phase is to put systems in place to manage these processes and to deal with future change.
